For thus says the One who is high and lifted up,who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy:"I dwell in the high and holy place,and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit,to revive the spirit of the lowly,and to revive the heart of the contrite.
"Thus says the Lord God: This also I will let the house of Israel ask me to do for them: to increase their people like a flock.
And it shall come to pass that everyone who calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be those who escape, as the Lord has said, and among the survivors shall be those whom the Lord calls.
All the sinners of my people shall die by the sword,who say, 'Disaster shall not overtake or meet us.'
"And I will pour out on the house of David and the inhabitants of Jerusalem a spirit of grace and pleas for mercy, so that, when they look on me, on him whom they have pierced, they shall mourn for him, as one mourns for an only child, and weep bitterly over him, as one weeps over a firstborn.
"For the man who does not love his wife but divorces her, says the Lord, the God of Israel, covers his garment with violence, says the Lord of hosts. So guard yourselves in your spirit, and do not be faithless."
and if the spirit of jealousy comes over him and he is jealous of his wife who has defiled herself, or if the spirit of jealousy comes over him and he is jealous of his wife, though she has not defiled herself,
In the first year of Cyrus king of Persia, that the word of the Lord by the mouth of Jeremiah might be fulfilled, the Lord stirred up the spirit of Cyrus king of Persia, so that he made a proclamation throughout all his kingdom and also put it in writing:
You have granted me life and steadfast love,and your care has preserved my spirit.
Whoever goes about slandering reveals secrets,but he who is trustworthy in spirit keeps a thing covered.
Pride goes before destruction,and a haughty spirit before a fall.
but if you refuse and rebel,you shall be eaten by the sword;for the mouth of the Lord has spoken."
He shall judge between the nations,and shall decide disputes for many peoples;and they shall beat their swords into plowshares,and their spears into pruning hooks;nation shall not lift up sword against nation,neither shall they learn war anymore.
Thus says God, the Lord,who created the heavens and stretched them out,who spread out the earth and what comes from it,who gives breath to the people on itand spirit to those who walk in it:
"For these things I weep;my eyes flow with tears;for a comforter is far from me,one to revive my spirit;my children are desolate,for the enemy has prevailed."
And each went straight forward. Wherever the spirit would go, they went, without turning as they went.
And I will give you a new heart, and a new spirit I will put within you. And I will remove the heart of stone from your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.
But I will have mercy on the house of Judah, and I will save them by the Lord their God. I will not save them by bow or by sword or by war or by horses or by horsemen."
