“abinadab” in Nelson's New Illustrated Bible Dictionary
ABINADAB [uh BIN a dab] — the name of four Old Testament men:
1. An Israelite of the tribe of Judah in whose house the ARK OF THE COVENANT was placed after being returned by the Philistines (1 Sam. 7:1; 1 Chr. 13:7).
2. The second son of Jesse; a brother of David (1 Sam. 17:13; 1 Chr. 2:13).
3. A son of King Saul slain at Mount Gilboa by the Philistines (1 Sam. 31:2; 1 Chr. 10:2).
4. The father of one of Solomon's officers, who was set over Dor in the territory of Issachar (1 Kin. 4:11).
