15Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him. v.15-16: Do not Love the world or the things in the world. For all that is in the world-the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life-is not of the Father but is of the world. === Lust, envy, and pride rules the heard of the world and the worldly. Christ, being outside the world, was not yoked to those sins. He was instead yoked to a love of God, a love of man, and a love of his brothers. Likewise Christians should cast off their yoks to lust, envy, and pride and instead choose to be burdened by a love for God, a love for Christ, and a love for each other.
