The Word Became Flesh
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. "In the beginning" goes back to Genesis 1:1. It would be interesting to read the septuigent and see if the greek is exactly the same in Genesis and John. The creator God is the Word that has been incarnated. See Eugene Peterson's"Chirst Plays in Ten Thousand Places" for an elaboration on this theme.
