my thoughts: while solomon could have asked for anything from God, he chose to ask for the wisdom to help guide and rule his people to the best of his ability, and therefore lead them on the right path to God.
Sometimes we think that If we had more money, or more time, or more time, then we could serve God better. All we really need is His love, wisdom and guidance to get through each day. We must know that He will provide for us if we trust Him.
I need to ask daddy what the scripture he quoted was. It said something about "you can't get wisdom by just randomly finding it lying on the ground. You have to search for it, ask God to help you find true wisdom."
Pray for wisdom from God, because you can't just find in lying on the ground, you need to look for it in Him.
