1 Corinthians 12:8
8To one there is given through the Spirit the message of wisdom, to another the message of knowledge by means of the same Spirit,
Wisdom and knowledge are paired elsewhere in Colossians 2:3, where Paul expresses his deep concern for the church at Colossae and Laodicea -- that they might reach a deeper knowledge of Christ and a fuller sense of assurance in regards to the salvation that is in Him. To understand Christ and to remain focused upon His person is to find oneself immersed and abiding in the one mediator between God and man who holds the treasures of all wisdom and knowledge of God the Father and the mysteries of His salvation. The gifts of knowledge (a Spirit-given depth of insight into all truth) and the utterance of wisdom (specific, Spirit-led instruction for life in accordance with sound doctrine) are gifts given freely by the sovereign Spirit. And yet those who seek to know Christ more fully and sacrifice their lives for the sake of knowing Jesus through study and meditation upon God's heart as laid out in the Scriptures will find their reward. These are perhaps the most important gifts that qualified leaders of the church must possess if they are to shepherd and teach the Church of God.

1 Corinthians 12:3
3Therefore I tell you that no one who is speaking by the Spirit of God says, “Jesus be cursed,” and no one can say, “Jesus is Lord,” except by the Holy Spirit.
It doesn't seem that Paul means that no one can ever mouth the phrase "Jesus is Lord" without speaking in the Holy Spirit or that anyone who can say the words "Jesus be cursed" is necessarily of the devil; rather, he means that no one can emphatically declare or truthfully proclaim Jesus's lordship apart from sharing in the Holy Spirit's ministry. Likewise, no one can emphatically deny or falsely proclaim the testimony of Jesus unless they are devoid of the Holy Spirit. One exception to this that we can see is Apollos, who was ignorant of the baptism of Jesus into the Holy Spirit, though he was 'fervent in the Spirit' himself (Acts 18:24-28). But there are many who will call Jesus 'Lord, Lord' who do not know Him nor are they 'known' by Him. We will know them by the corrupt fruit of their lives and ministry (Matthew 7:21-23). In contrast, the fruit of the Holy Spirit's prophetic ministry is the testimony of Christ Jesus (see Revelation 19:10). It always has been! Therefore no prophetic utterance, supernatural tongue, or interpretation of prophecy that centers upon something other than Christ can be truly said to be 'of the Spirit'. When we are moved by the Spirit of God to speak, we will undoubtedly declare the excellencies of Jesus Christ and the salvation that is in Him alone (see also 1 Peter 2:9-12).
