Romans 8:37
37No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
What is included in "all these things?" What does it mean to be "more than conquerors?" Does it mean that our self interest must die in certain circumstances? That we need to look for a greater victory than the one we desire? Is it instead, how he changes us in/through each of these circumstances?? I don't know...

Ecclesiastes 12:13-14
13Now all has been heard;here is the conclusion of the matter:Fear God and keep his commandments, for this is the whole duty of man.
Our lives may seem for naught and our eyes grow tired from seeking truth, but we must always remember the biggest part of the picture - Fear God, keep his commandments - for this is what we were made to do. We are protected by this. And in the end - in the next life - we will have our reward for every secret thing...

Ecclesiastes 9:17
17The quiet words of the wise are more to be heededthan the shouts of a ruler of fools.
If you have some wisdom, speak quietly, and don't expect riches, don't expect accolades, don't expect to be remembered. (read the preceding verses)

Ecclesiastes 9:11
11I have seen something else under the sun:The race is not to the swiftor the battle to the strong, nor does food come to the wiseor wealth to the brilliantor favor to the learned;but time and chance happen to them all.
Oh, this passage rich. I struggle with the injustice of life - yet here - Solomon has completed the Grieving process and accepted the random unfairness of life and death and the timing of everything. This may seem pessimistic, if the previous verses were not there.

Ecclesiastes 9:9
9Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love, all the days of this meaningless life that God has given you under the sun— all your meaningless days. For this is your lot in life and in your toilsome labor under the sun.
Of all the amazing verses in this passage, this one strikes me the most. "Live joyfully...in your vain life...". His wisdom is, no matter what your state - whatever your problems - Find the joy! Verse 11 is amazing

Ecclesiastes 9:4-6
4Anyone who is among the living has hopeOr What then is to be chosen? With all who live, there is hope—even a live dog is better off than a dead lion!
More is revealed now. We know if we trust Jesus's sacrifice, it gives more hope in death. But life has more purpose in preparing for that state. Our reward is prepared here. Whatever that reward is, we don't earn it there - we earn it here...even though we don't experience it here. I think this pre-realization is part of what Solomon was struggles with...

Ecclesiastes 7:14
14When times are good, be happy;but when times are bad, consider:God has made the oneas well as the other. Therefore, a man cannot discoveranything about his future.
Each day, each moment has its purpose. Perhaps this also is a part of the eternal perspective.

Ecclesiastes 3:14
14I know that everything God does will endure forever; nothing can be added to it and nothing taken from it. God does it so that men will revere him.
Did you ever wonder why God does or doesn't do something? Interesting perspective

Ecclesiastes 3:11
11He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the hearts of men; yet they cannot fathom what God has done from beginning to end.
Our ultimate purpose is hidden from us. The result of our life is something no man can see. It is hidden by God. We need to see every moment as something God has made beautiful for that moment. He has lit this moment with all of it's splendor, blurring what is past, cloaking what is in the future.
