Exodus 14:13-15
13Moses answered the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today. The Egyptians you see today you will never see again.

There's a lot of tension in these verses. Moses tells the people to just stand and watch the Lord deliver them. He tells them that the Lord will rescue them. These statements are true.
But Moses is a leader. He's not just supposed to stand there and watch God work, He's supposed to DO something. He's praying to God and God chides him, "why are you crying out to me? Tell the people to get moving!!!"
God expects His leaders to have faith and action. A realization that God will do the work and deliver us, but a compulsion to get in there and cooperate with God. God wants men and women of action.
God, help me to be balanced. Help me to work hard for your kingdom, but trust in you completely for all the power and all the progress. Help me to know that it's all you, but to work like it's all me.

Exodus 14:1-4
Chapter 14
1Then the LORD said to Moses, God told Moses to lead the people into an impossible situation (and He didn't tell Moses in advance how to get out). What God did tell Moses was that by getting into the impossible situation, he was setting things up so that God could do something miraculous that would give Him great glory.
I'm very reluctant to lead my church (or family, or friends) into impossible situations. They trust me to know where I'm going. They trust me to have a plan. Perhaps, by being safe, I'm not allowing God to do miraculous things. Of course, there's no need to be foolhardy either - and go places that God has not commanded.
Our impossible situation is God's opportunity to do something miraculous.
Lord, help me to listen to your leading and be willing to go impossible places and do impossible things for you.
