When our love for others is genuine, we are willing to bear their offenses and suffer their ill-treatment without attempting to retaliate! Think of Christ's example!
"does not envy" - the person in whom love reigns supreme is saddened by the tragedies and disappointments of the unfortunate, and he rejoices over their attainments and blessings!
