1 Kings 3:4-1 Kings 4:34
4The king went to Gibeon to offer sacrifices, for that was the most important high place, and Solomon offered a thousand burnt offerings on that altar.
my thoughts: while solomon could have asked for anything from God, he chose to ask for the wisdom to help guide and rule his people to the best of his ability, and therefore lead them on the right path to God. Sometimes we think that If we had more money, or more time, or more time, then we could serve God better. All we really need is His love, wisdom and guidance to get through each day. We must know that He will provide for us if we trust Him. I need to ask daddy what the scripture he quoted was. It said something about "you can't get wisdom by just randomly finding it lying on the ground. You have to search for it, ask God to help you find true wisdom." Pray for wisdom from God, because you can't just find in lying on the ground, you need to look for it in Him.

3 John 1:2
2Dear friend, I pray that you may enjoy good health and that all may go well with you, even as your soul is getting along well.
my thoughts: I like this verse right now because I have been in bed sick for three days now. There are so many things I've wanted to be doing, but have hardly been able to leave the house. This verse deals with both physical and spiritual health. We must be healthy in both mind, body and spirit in order to live the best life we can. The only way we can have perfect health in all three categories is with God. He heals our body when it is sick or broken. He heals our minds and souls in troubled times and gives us the calm and courage to go on and live for Him. Pray for health in mind, body and spirit.

Isaiah 41:19-20
19I will put in the desertthe cedar and the acacia, the myrtle and the olive.I will set pines in the wasteland, the fir and the cypress together,
my thoughts: We should appreciate our world, which God has so graciously provided for us. Adam was the caretaker of the garden, and so, his descendants should also be the caretakers of the world. We should cherish the amazing phenomena God has created on this earth, and treasure it as one of his works, instead of destroying it. It is said that the outdoors brings healing: why wouldn't it when it was made by such an awesome and wonderful and powerful almighty One. I think human's addiction to everything man-made is the destruction of everything God-made. There are less and less people out there who truly cherish this world we have been given. Irony: in a week, my family will go on vacation to a cabin, miles from other people, with nothing but nature and the beauty of God's world around us, and two big screen TVs with surround sound to make us forget it all. I plan to watch as little TV as possible while up there, but I doubt I'll be able to resist. It has become too much of human nature to rely on technology for everything. Ha! Human NATURE!?!? Maybe we should examine that phrase a little closer. Humans came from the earth and there, they shall return when their time is up. So why is it human nature to have nothing to do with nature? A hundred years ago, there was no such thing as TV, and yet today, we have our children shrieking that they will die if they aren't glued to the TV all hours of the day. Technology has become our life support. If we aren't plugged into our ipods or computers, we'll crash. If this was natural for humans, why didn't we die off a hundred years ago. The fact is, humans would have survived just fine without new "stuff" all the time. If we went out and destroyed everything electronic in the entire world, I'm sure God would help us find another way to get electric currents flowing through our veins, so that we don't shrivel up and die. Technology is as bad an addiction as any drug or alcohol. Wow, I just rambled for forever and totally lost the path I started on. This all started with cherishing nature because God made it and put all his love into his work. Pray for a better understanding of God's love and works.
