Romans 12:9
Love
9Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. I just saw this as a favorite of a friend...It makes me think - what does hypocritical love look like.... I need to think about this one.....

Romans 5:8
8But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
8But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
This verse is strengthened so much by the points he makes in the previous two. One would barely die for a good or righteous man, But Jesus died for sinners; Those who didn't do anything to deserve it. This gift makes us not helpless - but free to be saved...

Song of Solomon 4:9
9 You have stolen my heart, my sister, my bride;you have stolen my heartwith one glance of your eyes, with one jewel of your necklace.
9 You have stolen my heart, my sister, my bride;you have stolen my heartwith one glance of your eyes, with one jewel of your necklace.
You have ravished my heart, my sister, my bride.... I believe that this is how God sees us. With amazing love and affection, beyond what we can express. To me, this verse encapsulates God's love for me. I do not know this love, but I dream of it every night.

17The quiet words of the wise are more to be heededthan the shouts of a ruler of fools.
17The quiet words of the wise are more to be heededthan the shouts of a ruler of fools.
If you have some wisdom, speak quietly, and don't expect riches, don't expect accolades, don't expect to be remembered. (read the preceding verses)

Ecclesiastes 9:9
9Enjoy life with your wife, whom you love, all the days of this meaningless life that God has given you under the sun— all your meaningless days. For this is your lot in life and in your toilsome labor under the sun.

Of all the amazing verses in this passage, this one strikes me the most. "Live joyfully...in your vain life...". His wisdom is, no matter what your state - whatever your problems - Find the joy! Verse 11 is amazing

Matthew 22:30
30At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.
30At the resurrection people will neither marry nor be given in marriage; they will be like the angels in heaven.
That is right Michelle! I hadn't thought of that verse that way until now. Follow the logic - if heaven is better than the best that can be imagined - then why embrace the idealism and pursue God...

Galatians 5:14
14The entire law is summed up in a single command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”Lev. 19:18
14The entire law is summed up in a single command: “Love your neighbor as yourself.”Lev. 19:18
All of the law is summed up by these words? No wonder we can't fulfill it! We hardly know how to love. At least the best of us barely show it.

Psalms 1:2
2But his delight is in the law of the LORD,and on his law he meditates day and night.
2But his delight is in the law of the LORD,and on his law he meditates day and night.
did you know that the law was created to protect us, not hurt us. But the end is that it was most useful by pointing out that we cannot do it. We cannot meet it's standards. We cannot enjoy it's full protection.

Psalms 4:1
Psalm 4
For the director of music. With stringed instruments. A psalm of David.
1Answer me when I call to you,O my righteous God.Give me relief from my distress;be merciful to me and hear my prayer. Lord, have mercy, hear my prayer, you are the source of my right standing with you, It is nothing that I have earned. I beg for you mercy and love and forgiveness. It is my cry of distress.
