Job 7
Chapter 7
1“Does not man have hard service on earth? Are not his days like those of a hired man? Job 7 depicts a low time in the life of Job. He was depressed. He had begun to tire of the testing of his faith. Job suffered from insomnia (v. 3-4), some type of skin problem (v. 5), hopelessness (v. 6-13), and self-hatred (v. 15-16). Job had sunk so low that he began to question God in an accusing manner (v. 17-21). "Why then do You not pardon my transgression,
And take away my iniquity?
For now I will lie down in the dust, And You will seek me diligently, But I will no longer be". Verse 21 of Job 7 is by far the saddest. Job is diligently trying to understand why he is being punidhed. He then concludes that he mudt have sinned in some way. So, he begs for forgiveness thinking it will bring an end to his suffering, but it doesn't. He even told God that when he comes looking for him, he won't be there. "I will no longer be".
