Most assuredly I tell you, unless a man is born of water, that is the washing of regeneration, and is born of the spirit, that is conversion, he cannot enter into the kingdom of heaven which is here on earth. See John 6 where Jesus states that if a man eats the bread he will live forever, and if a man both eats the bread and drinks the blood, he has possession of eternal life. Then see Ephesians 1 which teaches that we are adopted by the predeterminate counsel of God, and given an inheritance reserved in heaven for us. And then if we believe, we receive the earnest of that inheritance, which is the Holy Spirit of promise, as a reward for our obedience.
