Acts 22:16
16And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.’
Paul had not eaten in three days. If baptism is not necessary, why was he immediately baptized, before stopping to eat? Notice that Ananias says "wash away thy sins". He doesn't say "accept Jesus as your personal Saviour" or "pray the prayer of faith". Please read all of the examples of salvation in the book of Acts. How are we saved? By believing, by confessing that Jesus is the Christ, by being baptized into Jesus' death. Only then are we saved, rising to become new creatures in His service, having died to sin and having been buried with Jesus in baptism, we are pure, free, and all of our sins have been forgiven. Praise God for his mercy, for the gift of his grace.
