The Beginning
1In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. Word Genesis = beginning. Thus, it's the Book of the beginnings. The beginning of the universe, the beginning of life forms, the beginning of man, the beginning of sin and death. The beginning of God's redemptive program by the beginning of a nation. The majority of Genesis has to do with God's redemptive plan by narrowing down genealogies to one family from which all the nations of the world are to be blessed.
