1 Thessalonians 5:11
11Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.

I wish I saw more of this taking place in our lives today. We seem to do a lot of tearing down instead of lifting up.

1 Thessalonians 4:11

Not meaning we are to close ourselves up in our homes, but that we are peaceful and quiet in a way that sets us apart from the world. Not lacking self-control so that we can lead others to the hope we have. Not being in everyone's business. Not being a gossip.

6Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

I like the commentary on this. We must have within us something that sets us apart so that others can come to know Christ.

God already knows everything about us. This verse is a verse of submission to that very fact, as well as a cry to be right with the Lord.

16Don't be deceived, my dear brothers.
God's word tells us not to be deceived. Therefore, it is possible to be deceived. We need to be humble and recognize that Satan seeks to deceive us all the time and none of us is above being deceived. Only by the grace of God, and knowing His Word, can we stand up to the great deceiver.
