Nehemiah 4:14
14After I looked things over, I stood up and said to the nobles, the officials and the rest of the people, “Don't be afraid of them. Remember the Lord, who is great and awesome, and fight for your brothers, your sons and your daughters, your wives and your homes.”

Revelation 3:15
15I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other!
The church at Laodicea was neither hot nor cold. That is, they were not a people who claimed to have no faith (cold), yet as claiming belief in Christ, they had no life or joy or evidence of faith in them. The Lord would have nothing to do with them in their current state.

Luke 24:27
27And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself.
Here Jesus is walking to Emmaus with Cleopas and his companion, and He explains to them all references, inferences and indications that the Scriptures had to tell of the Messiah. This was an incredible 7.5 mile journey in which Christ gave a sermon about Himself – about how all of scriptures points towards Him!

Peace and Joy
1Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, weOr let us have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ,
Before we individually became believers, we were enemies of God. Do you not know that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? "Therefore whoever desires to be a friend of the world is the enemy of God." (James 4:4). Now, after accepting His Son as Saviour and Lord, we are at peace without guilt of our sins. The Lamb has paid the price so that we can be with Him!

1 John 1:9
9If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.
We all sin. We all sin often. In order to continue a relationship with the Father, we are continually in need of correction and pardon. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9 MKJV) We beat ourselves up over our sin. We sin and seek forgiveness. Then, after God has forgiven us, we personally dredge the guilt of them back up; when the truth of it is – He is faithful and just to forgive us! When He forgives, He cleanses us from all that keeps us from Him – from all unrighteousness. Then we have communion with Him again. And to cleanse us from all unrighteousness - By forgiving all that is past, treating us as if we were righteous, and ultimately by removing all the stains of guilt from the soul. 1 Peter 1:8
8Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy,
This is describing the very root of our faith in Christ. We have not seen Him with our physical eyes, yet we believe in him as our Saviour. Christ Himself stated to Thomas, “Because you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.” Part of that blessing Christ spoke of is the love and joy mentioned in this verse. Perhaps this love and joy takes on a greater significance having not seen Him. There is a human barrier that takes place when we rely too much on our physical senses.
