It is interesting to not that Jesus taught his disciples pray that that they wouldn't be led into temptation, where in this situation, Jesus was led into temptation by the Spirit (with a capital "S").

This does not apply to self defense, or "taking up arms". It is talking about a time when there are no wars, and practically everyone wants to worship "The God of Jacob". There would be no need to "bear arms" in that situation.
