Isaiah 65:19
19I will rejoice over Jerusalemand take delight in my people;the sound of weeping and of cryingwill be heard in it no more.
Jeff - I understand this to be focusing on the joy that we recieve by finally living in right relationship with God. The specifics only seem to be there to give us examples of what that taste of joy will be. Travis - "If the new heavens and earth is the physical world of the eternal state; and if this state follows the resurrection and there are births and deaths in these heavens and earth, what do we do with Jesus’ words to the Sadducees?"

Matthew 24:3
3As Jesus was sitting on the Mount of Olives, the disciples came to him privately. “Tell us,” they said, “when will this happen, and what will be the sign of your coming and of the end of the age?”
This seems more like 3 questions: When will the temple be destroyed? What will be the sign of your coming? What will be the sign of the end of the age?

27For as lightning that comes from the east is visible even in the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
Answer to second question, "what will be the sign of your coming?" This is a great and amazing thing...something that would not go unseen. As quick as lightning is, it is still bright and the thunder loud for ALL to see and hear.
