Luke 1:48
48for he has been mindfulof the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed,
Mary was an incredible woman of God. She was indeed blessed. Did you ever read the beattitudes? Jesus teaches that anyone who puts the kingdom of God first is blessed. Indeed, we are all blessed if we are found in Him

Matthew 10:1
Chapter 10
Jesus Sends Out the Twelve
1He called his twelve disciples to him and gave them authority to drive out evilGreek unclean spirits and to heal every disease and sickness.
Jesus sent out the "twelve" inlcuding Judas! They were all given the power to cast out demons and to heal others. The passage is clear that Jesus gave them the power. God is the source of power and miracles. He uses people, but we should never put our faith in the people, rather in God himself. Only He is faithful and good. Judas turned out to be a traitor.

Matthew 6:7
7And when you pray, do not keep on babbling like pagans, for they think they will be heard because of their many words.
Prayer is meant to be a personal communication with God. There is no better way to turn off someone (even a close friend) then to constantly repeat the same thing over and over. God created us to commune with Him in dynamic fellowship. He created us with different personalities and strengths so that we would develop unique and individual relationships with Him. If you want to get closer to God and have Him "hear" you and respond, try praying like the Psalmist in the Old testament. These are divinely inspired prayers and supplications that are real examples of how this relationship with God can look like in real life.

Romans 8:17
17Now if we are children, then we are heirs–heirs of God and co–heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory.
Why do we get so confused about suffering in our lives? "If we are to share his glory, we must also share his suffering." (Romans 8:17) Or again..."Dear friends, don't be surprised at the fiery trials you are going through, as if something strange were happening to you..." (1 Peter 4:12) Christ said "In this world you will have trouble, but take heart!" (John 16:33) He promises to see us through troubles and heartache and pain, not to take it away. Selfishness and laziness hide behind the modern christians who look for and teach a gospel that is easy and pain free. There is nothing wrong with money or success or happiness, but if you think God is going to simply make your life easier with little or no effort on your part, you are in for a rude awakening. God is looking for courageous and hard working christians who serve others without any selfish motives. They will certainly face many trials, toils and snares, but Christ will reign victoriously through them all!

Daniel 3:1-6
Chapter 3
The Image of Gold and the Fiery Furnace
1King Nebuchadnezzar made an image of gold, ninety feet high and nine feetAramaic sixty cubits high and six cubits wide (about 27 meters high and 2.7 meters wide) wide, and set it up on the plain of Dura in the province of Babylon.
I want to start by saying that I believe we are all in the body of Christ (Catholic and protestant). We are called to love each other and build each other up in our relationship with the head of the church (Christ!). Praying to the saints can be idolatry for some, and so can money, and little league and anything else that we allow to get between us and God.******Jesus taught us "when you pray don't babble on and on as the people of other religions do. They think their prayers are answered only by repeating their words again and again." Mathew (6:7) He taught us to pray the "Father" in heaven, and he made it clear that "I and the Father are one" (John 10:30) Scripture teaches that when we do not know what to pray, we can look to the Holy Siprit for help. "And the Holy Spirit helps us in our distress. For we don't even know what we should pray for, nor how we should pray. But the Holy Spirit prays for us with groanings that cannot be expressed in words." (Romans 8:26) There is not one passage in scripture that tells us to pray to the saints (though there are plenty calling us to pray with each other!) Jesus loved and respected his mother Mary, but he put her in her proper place in Mark 3:33-35. "Jesus replied 'Who is my mother? Who are my brothers? Then he looked at those around him and said. These are my mother and brothers. Anyone who does God's will is my brother and sister and mother." Jesus was without sin, so he was not showing a lack of respect for Mary (standing outside when he said this!). Why pray to people (dead or alive) when we can go to the source in God?

John 3:16
16“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son,Or his only begotten Son that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Christianity is the only religion I know of that claims that God loves you as a person. It tells you that your life and your words and deeds matter. What a God we serve!

Psalms 34:7-11
7The angel of the LORD encamps around those who fear him,and he delivers them.
This passage is related to Hebrews 1:14 which state that angels are "ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit righteousness".

Hebrews 1:3
3The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
This verse is incredible because it points to the fact that Christ is "upholding all things by the power of His word." The verb tense in the greek is includes past present and future all at once. Wow! See also John 1:1-3
