Psalm 38 A psalm of David. A petition. 1O LORD, do not rebuke me in your angeror discipline me in your wrath. 2For your arrows have pierced me, 3Because of your wrath there is no health in my body; 4My guilt has overwhelmed me 5My wounds fester and are loathsome 6I am bowed down and brought very low; 7My back is filled with searing pain; 8I am feeble and utterly crushed; 9All my longings lie open before you, O Lord; 10My heart pounds, my strength fails me; 11My friends and companions avoid me because of my wounds; 12Those who seek my life set their traps, 13I am like a deaf man, who cannot hear, 14I have become like a man who does not hear, 15I wait for you, O LORD; 16For I said, “Do not let them gloat 17For I am about to fall, 18I confess my iniquity; 19Many are those who are my vigorous enemies; 20Those who repay my good with evil 21O LORD, do not forsake me; 22Come quickly to help me,be not far from me, O my God.
