Prologue: Purpose and Theme
1The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel:

2for attaining wisdom and discipline;
for understanding words of insight;

3for acquiring a disciplined and prudent life,
doing what is right and just and fair;

4for giving prudence to the simple,
knowledge and discretion to the young—

5let the wise listen and add to their learning,
and let the discerning get guidance—

6for understanding proverbs and parables,
the sayings and riddles of the wise.

7The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge,
but foolsThe Hebrew words rendered fool in Proverbs, and often elsewhere in the Old Testament, denote one who is morally deficient. despise wisdom and discipline.

so many times we choose to do things our own way and use our own reasoning to figure the why and how of it all. and i just picture GOD laughin at how silly our reasoning is. HE has the answers to all our questions and if we come to HIM HE will give us those answers, but sadly, many of uf choose to do it our own way never really finding the correct answers to our questions

Learning to fear (respect) the Lord God is the building stone for moral and civilized character. Children not brought up with this learning have a hard road to follow throughout life. Parents would be wise to get back to Sunday School and Church, if for no other reason than to provide guidance and direction for their children.
