Thanksgiving and Prayer 3I thank my God every time I remember you.4In all my prayers for all of you, I always pray with joy5because of your partnership in the gospel from the first day until now,6being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. 7It is right for me to feel this way about all of you, since I have you in my heart; for whether I am in chains or defending and confirming the gospel, all of you share in God's grace with me.8God can testify how I long for all of you with the affection of Christ Jesus.9And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight,10so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless until the day of Christ,11filled with the fruit of righteousness that comes through Jesus Christ–to the glory and praise of God.

I am holding onto this verse. God has been working in my heart. He has made Himself known to me. Sometimes, I feel closer to Him than other times. Right now, I feel very distant. Even though I feel distant, though, I have confidence that He began this work in me. It hurts right now. It's painful to hash out old memories and think about things I push to the back of my mind, but I feel like it's going somewhere. I am confident that God's not going to leave me hanging. He's going to finish what he's started. He's going to help me.I need Him. Oh, how I need Him.

"completion" in NIV as oppose to "perfect" in NASB. I like both. We are not complete unless we are perfect. We are not perfect unless we are complete. We will not be perfect and complete until Christ returns. So unless Jesus is coming back tomorrow, he's not done w/ me yet.

It does not matter how long it takes, He says it will be completed. In life's journey God did not promise us an easy ride, but safe arrival.

Many Christians are miserable because they think they must depend on their own strength to remain secure in God's grace. But, this is not the case! As long as we walk in the light as God gives us, we need not worry!
