Final Greetings
11Finally, brothers, good–by. Aim for perfection, listen to my appeal, be of one mind, live in peace. And the God of love and peace will be with you.

12Greet one another with a holy kiss.13All the saints send their greetings.

14May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all.

Galatians
Chapter 1
1Paul, an apostle–sent not from men nor by man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead–2and all the brothers with me,
To the churches in Galatia:

3Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ,

4who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father,
5to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

This chilling statement refers to anyone attempting to be justified by good works. Note that Paul declares that the Galatians were fallen from the position of Grace. Their salvation was in jeopardy, because they were now placing their Faith in something other than the Cross.

Given that this doesn’t limit the purposes of Jesus to 1st century Roman world, what could this mean today? How is Jesus wanting to "rescue us from the present evil age”? It’s remarkable how imminently the work of Jesus is described by Paul here. Jesus gave himself NOT just for our eternity but for NOW. (I would argue, to give us hope in the midst of hopelessness that exists in every age.)
