Yes, Mother's have much responsibility too especially if their actions hinder the Father from raising his children correctly.

6:1–4 This paragraph has the beautiful balance we expect to find in God's Word: children are to obey their parents, and parents are to treat their children in such a way that the children will want to obey. Children must obey their parents for Christ's sake, even if their parents are not believers. This is supported by the only one of the Ten Commandments followed by a promise (Deut. 5:16). Of course, Christian children should not do anything sinful even if their parents should command them to. In such a case, children must obey God rather than men (Acts 5:29). do not provoke: Parents should not be unreasonably severe with children or ridicule them.

Again, the family unit is the first unit and the environment in which our character is formed and molded. Paul admonishes fathers to instruct their children appropriately, refraining from using harsh tactics which could provoke children to turn away from the principles of God and turn then towards wrath. Provoking children to turn away from God does them a great disservice and places them in the path of God's final judgment and wrath.

•Be reasonable and consistent when teaching your children. •Some say that you should bring children up with a "blank slate" concerning knowledge about God so that they can "choose for themselves" what to believe. That contradicts this and other passages and robs them of vital truth that was passed down generation to generation since the creation of man. It is key to teach kids about God.
