Spiritual Blessings in Christ
3Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ.
4For he chose us in him before the creation of the world to be holy and blameless in his sight. In love
5heOr sight in love. 5 He predestined us to be adopted as his sons through Jesus Christ, in accordance with his pleasure and will–6to the praise of his glorious grace, which he has freely given us in the One he loves.7In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace8that he lavished on us with all wisdom and understanding.9And heOr us. With all wisdom and understanding, 9 he made known to us the mystery of his will according to his good pleasure, which he purposed in Christ,10to be put into effect when the times will have reached their fulfillment–to bring all things in heaven and on earth together under one head, even Christ.

11In him we were also chosen,Or were made heirs having been predestined according to the plan of him who works out everything in conformity with the purpose of his will,12in order that we, who were the first to hope in Christ, might be for the praise of his glory.13And you also were included in Christ when you heard the word of truth, the gospel of your salvation. Having believed, you were marked in him with a seal, the promised Holy Spirit,14who is a deposit guaranteeing our inheritance until the redemption of those who are God's possession–to the praise of his glory.

This does not mean that only a select few are chosen to be a child of God. Paul addresses the REASON for the gift of salvation. And that purpose is that the redeemed "should be holy and blameless before" God.

Ephesians 1:3-15: ("Start Point"- Type: Eph 1:3 & Click: “Search Bible”) The subject of a Sovereign God predestined some to be in His family and while others have no chance is an idea that goes against the Scriptural truth about God giving man a will to make choices. This verse, as noted by others, does not support the idea that God has predestined some and others He has not. God has predestined that all men everywhere be saved. (John 3:15-21; Acts 17:30-31; Romans 10:13; etc.) 1) Some wrong interpretations of Scripture can be attributed to the misuse for words like: “elect”, “God’s elect”, and “chosen people”. These terminologies like “God’s chosen people” are usually a reference to Israel & the Jews and don’t refer to the church at all. In Scripture some use of phrases like “…we are a chosen generation…” do refer to the church but one has to discern whom the writer is referring too. Be careful to not assume the meaning of “God’s elect” as always referring to the church, which some have claimed to be “Spiritual Israel”. We are not “Spiritual Israel” we are the “Church”; however, the statement in this verse 4 “…chosen us…” does refer to the church. 2) Just because God knows who will be saved, doesn’t mean He only elects “them” to hear the Gospel unto salvation. Everyone could chose Him if they wanted to, but He won’t make them. We each have to go after God when we are enlightened to our need for Him. Technically we all could choose His salvation if we wanted to. We can always choose God! He has already, in His sovereignty, chosen everybody to receive His salvation according to the Scriptures. This really does explain why Christ died on the cross for our sins. God desires for us to be holy and without blame. WOW!

Before God created the earth, before God spoke man into existence, it was in the heart and mind of God that He would have a people who were blameless and holy. The only way to be blameless and holy is to have the love nature. God made that provision through Christ. He washed us with his Word and the Blood of Jesus, so that He could dwell in us. If God dwells in us then we can walk in love, because God is love.

God is not suprised by our failures for He already knew what He was getting. He is not in heaven saying oh my what shall I do I did not have a clue for He already knows and has covered us with the blood. Restored all our faults and makes us new each day.

How wonderfully amazing God is. Before he even created the heavens and the earth He chose us in Christ that we would be holy and blameless in His sight. The key is in Christ, for human will ever stand holy and blameless before God unless they are in Christ, for it is the blood of Christ that was shed for our sins that allows us to stand before God without fault.
