Revelation 3:20

To the Church in Laodicea
14“And to the angel of the church in Laodicea write: ‘The words of the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of God's creation.15“‘I know your works: you are neither cold nor hot. Would that you were either cold or hot!16So, because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of my mouth.17For you say, I am rich, I have prospered, and I need nothing, not realizing that you are wretched, pitiable, poor, blind, and naked.18I counsel you to buy from me gold refined by fire, so that you may be rich, and white garments so that you may clothe yourself and the shame of your nakedness may not be seen, and salve to anoint your eyes, so that you may see.19Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent.
20Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with me.
21The one who conquers, I will grant him to sit with me on my throne, as I also conquered and sat down with my Father on his throne.22He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches.’”

Jesus will not barge in against our will, he awaits an invitation to come in to our hearts.

This passage is addressed to the believers. Those who already believe in Christ. It is dealing with discipline. It is not a call to salvation. Your sins from the moment of your birth to the moment of your faith in Christ were forgiven. You immediately were in fellowhip with God. When you commit a sin as a believer you are out of fellowship with God, until you confess your sin to God. If you remain out of fellowship for lack of confession, then Gods word cannot influence your life. Here Christ is standing knocking at the door. It is a warning discipline. If you do not listen to Gods word, putting it into (letting in) your heart and confessing sin you will die. Your life in heaven will come with few or no rewards. No gold, silver or precious stones which represent how you applied Gods words to your heart and life on earth, which is the bases for recieving rewards in Heaven from Christ. If you listen and apply Christ word, then Christ, the word, will dine with you. You are in the presence of God when you study and live His word.

Our Lord stands at the door of our hearts also and knocks. Will you let Him in?

Would you consider yourself a good person? Do you think you have kept the 10 commandments? All of them all of the time? Ever lied? Stolen? Hated (yup, Jesus says this is the same as murder)? On Judgment Day, if God judges you by the 10 commandments, will you be innocent or guilty? Do you think you will go to Heaven or Hell? If Heaven, why? are you sure? I Hell, does that concern you? Do you know what God did so you wouldn't have to go to Hell? Read these verses to explore God's Plan: 1) John 3:16-17, 2) I Peter 3:18, 3) Acts 26:20, 4) Revelation 3:20, 5) Romans 10:9-10. A few questions: 1) Are you a sinner? 2) Do you want to be forgiven? 3) Are you willing to change your life? 4) Do you believe Jesus died and rose again? 5) Are you ready to ask Jesus into your life? If you want to surrender your life to Jesus Christ and accept His Gift of Salvation from sin, now is the time. Pray to God. Here is an example prayer you can pray: "Heavenly Father, I'm a sinner. I ask forgiveness for my sins. I believe that Jesus died on the cross for me and rose again. I am ready to change and follow Jesus. I ask Jesus into my heart and into my life. I ask this in Jesus' name, Amen." A few questions for believers: 1) How many of your sins has Christ paid for? 1 John 2:2 (All of them), 2) How many sins does Christ remember? Hebrews 10:17 (None), 3) Where does Christ Live? Galatians 2:20 (Lives in me). Praise God and our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Let His glorious plan interrupt your life! 1) Love God First (Matthew 22:37-38), 2) Love People Unconditionally (Matthew 22:39-40), 3) Go Make More (Matthew 28:18-20). Feed on God's Word, Pray, Go to Church and find believers to share life with, Go and share your faith and teach others to do the same.

Seek God with all your heart. Jesus knocks to get our attention, but he will never force his way into your life. He is a gracious and patient God, waiting for us to answer his call in our lives.
