Chapter 14 I Am the Way, and the Truth, and the Life 1“Let not your hearts be troubled. Believe in God; believe also in me.2In my Father's house are many rooms. If it were not so, would I have told you that I go to prepare a place for you?3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and will take you to myself, that where I am you may be also.4And you know the way to where I am going.”5Thomas said to him, “Lord, we do not know where you are going. How can we know the way?”6Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. 7If you had known me, you would have known my Father also. From now on you do know him and have seen him.”8Philip said to him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.”9Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and you still do not know me, Philip? Whoever has seen me has seen the Father. How can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?10Do you not believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words that I say to you I do not speak on my own authority, but the Father who dwells in me does his works.11Believe me that I am in the Father and the Father is in me, or else believe on account of the works themselves.12“Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes in me will also do the works that I do; and greater works than these will he do, because I am going to the Father.13Whatever you ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.14If you ask me anything in my name, I will do it.

There is only one way to God. This is something that cannot be denied (an old meaning for the word "true") and Jesus saves us from eternal (spiritual) death. How lucky are we to have such an easy route? All we have to do is believe, no working, dying, rebirthing cycle until we get it right! What a wonderful gift!

1 Timothy 2:5 reiterates that there is only One Way: "For there is one God and one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus." And Acts 4:12 also makes this point clear: “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved." What wonderful consistency and clearity in Gods word. Three different writers at three different times all on the same page. Praise God!

What the verse is saying is that you hafta believe Jesus died on the cross, and you hafta accept Jesus Christ as your personal Savior to get to Heaven.

This is one of my favorite verses and basically what He is saying here is, He is the way to salvation, He never lies and all He says is truthful, and that He is pure because He is God. He also says that without Him, no one can be saved.

Jesus is the only way to God. Not only is Jesus truthful, but he is the truth incarnate. One must either believe that Jesus is pure good or pure evil for calling himself The Truth and The Way to God. You cannot stay on the fence about him.

I am the way out of the present predicament, poverty, sickness, affliction, darkness etc. I do not lie but say the truth. Let all men be liars and God be true. For, my words are ye and amen. They are words of prophecy and have never failed those that depended on them. The entrance of them bringeth life unto them that believed said the LORD.
