Do Not Love the World
15Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.16For everything in the world–the cravings of sinful man, the lust of his eyes and the boasting of what he has and does–comes not from the Father but from the world.
17The world and its desires pass away, but the man who does the will of God lives forever.

v.15-16: Do not Love the world or the things in the world. For all that is in the world-the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life-is not of the Father but is of the world. === Lust, envy, and pride rules the heard of the world and the worldly. Christ, being outside the world, was not yoked to those sins. He was instead yoked to a love of God, a love of man, and a love of his brothers. Likewise Christians should cast off their yoks to lust, envy, and pride and instead choose to be burdened by a love for God, a love for Christ, and a love for each other.
